A set of 10 beautiful old Venetian trade beads from the African trade! Trade beads were decorative glass beads, used between the 16th and 20th Century as a token money to exchange for local african goods as oil, gold etc. These beads were called tic tac toe beads, refering to the game in which players have to put x's and o's in a grid. These beads are handmade, no beads are identical. Beads will be randomly picked. ✔️ Color: brick red, white and black ✔️ This is the real thing, no import from India or China in my shop. ✔️ Late 19th - early 20th C ✔️ The beads are in good used condition. Some of these beads have traveled at least three continents. Corrosion and pitting are a normal part of their patina attesting to their age and extensive use. ✔️ The beads will be carefully wrapped.
