Description

This set of three coin silver teaspoons dates to 1846–1848 and bears the mark of Walter Pitkin's Hartford workshop, a period when American silversmiths were perfecting their craft. The fiddleback design is characteristic of early nineteenth-century aesthetics, and the spoons carry the monogram AWC along with retailer marks from Mather & Pitkin in Buffalo. At 60 grams total with minor surface scratching consistent with age, these pieces offer a tangible connection to American silversmithing heritage and could serve as meaningful heirlooms or additions to a collection of vintage serving pieces.
