1907 BLUE GASCONY BASSET - 117-Year-Old Lithography Print from Antique French Animal Book

This 117-year-old lithography print captures a blue Gascony basset from a rare 1907 French hunting encyclopedia, rendered with the scientific precision and artistic care that defined naturalist illustration. Measuring 11.75 by 7.5 inches, the plate comes from Jean Baptiste Samat's authoritative "Dogs, Game and Their Enemies," an exhaustive study of hunting breeds, game species, and predators by a dedicated field observer and hunter. As an authentic original from the antique book—not a reproduction—it's a considered choice for collectors drawn to vintage wildlife art and natural history documentation.
