1907 GRIFFON VENDEEN NIVERNAIS — 117-Year-Old Lithography Print from Antique French Animal Book

This 1907 lithography print captures a Griffon Vendeen Nivernais from Jean Baptiste Samat's seminal work "Dogs, Game and Their Enemies"—a scientifically detailed yet artistically rendered study of the hunting ecosystem. The original print measures 11.75 by 7.5 inches and comes with its protective tissue guard, bearing the title and scene information. As an authentic antique plate rather than a reproduction, it represents a rare piece of natural history documentation from an era when wildlife illustration merged rigorous observation with fine artistic craft.
