1980 Karlsruhe Volksmarsch Medal 135e Regiment du Train Fidelitas Germany

Vintage 1980 commemorative medal from the 2nd International Volksmarsch held in Karlsruhe, Germany on May 3–4, 1980. The large round metal medal features a dimensional hiking/military-style boot surrounded by colorful flag motifs and is marked “135 eme Regiment du Train.” The upper gold-tone bar features a red Fidelitas shield and reads “2. Int. Volksmarsch Karlsruhe 3./4. Mai 1980.” A green and cream ribbon connects the medal to the upper bar, with metal chains along each side. The piece measures approximately 5 1/2" long overall; please see ruler photo for size reference. Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related surface wear. There is chipped/missing paint on part of the American flag design, along with some other minor finish wear. The bottom ends of the green and cream ribbon are frayed. Metal shows normal age-related wear and patina. Please review all photos carefully for condition and details.
