1980s Kimble Kontes Lab Glass Paperweight Marble Desk Accessory Bry-Mar

This listing is for a small vintage Kimble and Kontes promotional desk accessory dating from the first half of the 1980s. The piece consists of a square marble base with an oversized metal paperclip mounted upright, creating a practical little desktop accessory that could be used to hold a document upright while working at a desk or typing. The front of the marble bears an embossed “Kimble and Kontes” nameplate. Kimble and Kontes was a New Jersey-based manufacturer and supplier of laboratory glassware and scientific equipment, making this a charming example of scientific-industry promotional material from the early 1980s. A sticker on the underside identifies the maker of the desk accessory as Bry-Mar Company, Morrisville, Pennsylvania. The piece has a few very small “flea bite” dings along the edges of the marble. They are minor and difficult to capture clearly in photographs. The adhesive used to attach the nameplate has also caused some light staining on the marble immediately behind it. Please see photographs for condition and details. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask- thanks for looking!
