Antique 18k Blue Enamel Star Etruscan Revival Brooch | Memorial Mourning Pin

A sought after 18k yellow gold antique Victorian Etruscan Revival brooch with a hidden glazed compartment on the reverse that has a piece of black cloth inside. Created in 18k solid yellow gold, has a high dome that has a sky blue enamel star with a split pearl accent. It has a glass insert to be worn as a memorial or mourning brooch. There is a hook on the back that is used to suspend a tassel or watch chain but the hook can be turned around to hang as a pendant. It is unmarked which is typical but electronically tested. The pin and c-clasp are base metal. Weighing: 9.3 grams without the glazed insert. 13.8 grams gross weight. Measurements: 1 1/2" in diameter by 3/4" in height. Condition: Good, considering it's 150 years and hollow construction. There are dents and dings to the beaded rim as shown. Chipped enamel on the star and a chip on the glass insert.
