The cover carries an ornate scrollwork and laurel wreath design with the original price of 50 cents. The contents page shows an 1897 copyright and lists thirteen piano pieces by Ignace Leybach: Fifth Nocturne in A flat (Op. 52), La Sonnambula and I Puritani (Bellini fantasies), Luisa Miller (Verdi), Faust (Gounod), Romantic Thoughts (Op. 258), Second Grand Waltz in E flat (Op. 20), Tyrolienne in A flat (Op. 54), La Diabolique (Op. 47), The Palms (Les Rameaux, Faure), Fantasy on a German Air (Op. 5), Chanson à Boire (Op. 50), and First Boléro in G minor (Op. 64). Pages run past page 119, with the contents listing Chanson à Boire at page 111. The back cover is a full-page "Universal Series of Celebrated Fifty Cent Books" instrumental list, a great look at what parlor pianists were buying in the early 1900s. The spine is worn with chipping and paper loss along the left edge, and the cover is toned with brown staining and spotting. The back cover shows heavy amber staining along the right side, with chips and paper loss at the corners and edge. Interior pages are toned with light handling wear, a few small edge tears near the contents page, and a small pencil mark on page 63. Music pages shown are clean and legible.
