Beaded Caplet Hat, PIERCE Designer, Vintage 1950s Glamour

This gorgeous vintage hat hearkens back to the 1920s and sparkles with Art Deco charm. It is a fanciful creation totally encrusted with iridescent glimmering aurora borealis beads, glittering sequins, and braided cord detailing in shades of dark blue-violet and purple. The hat is constructed of a satiny base and finished with velvet detailing along the edges. This show stopper is truly unique and totally spectacular! The fantastically glamorous creation would make a wonderful addition to your vintage hat collection. It is an amazing piece of wearable art. It has a designer tag, PIERCE, Chicago, New York. I believe it is from the 1940s – 1950s. Measurement: This hat fits on all heads because it sits on the top of the head and is a caplet-type hat. An elastic hat band is attached to the inside of the hat that holds the hat nicely in place and is not visible when tucked under your hair. It can be worn several different ways, depending upon your mood. Tilt it to one side or the other; put it on top of your head, etc. CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. I don’t see any missing sequins or beads. Quality is excellent. It is clean and has no odors. The hat is in wonderful shape and the colors are still rich and vibrant. The only issue to note is that a tiny part of the curved wire foundation is showing in one of the scalloped edges at the brim of the hat, but it is not visible when the hat is being worn. This is a vintage item, and has been gently used. I have done my best to describe it, but it is possible that a small defect could have escaped my notice.
