Bit (1 1/4") for use with a brace and bit by "Alfrid" By Alfred Ridge and Sons. Cleaned and sharpened ready for use

This drill bit cannot have been made after 1968 because after that date the company owner (footprint tools) brought all their brands into the Footprint brand. i suspect it is a little earlier than that because of where I got it from. My guess is late 1940's to early 1950's It bears the "Alfrid" brand name of Alfred Ridge and sons and in case you cannot measure it is stamped 1 1/14. I have cleaned it and sharpened it and it works very well. These tools are for drilling shallow holes with a brace and bit. If you want a deep hole use an auger.
