SEWING STEPS
1. Assemble the shoulders
Pin the fronts to the back, right sides together.
Sew the shoulder seams.
Overcast or finish neatly.
2. Roll up the sleeves
Pin each sleeve to the armhole, right sides together.
Sew and overlock.
3. Close the sides
Fold the jacket right sides together.
Sew the sleeve + the side of the body in one line.
Overcast.
4. Sew the facings
Assemble the facings to the fronts.
Pin right sides together on the open edges of the neckline.
Sew, notch, turn and topstitch if desired.
5. Create the slide
Place eyelets or sew buttonholes on the fronts (waist level).
Sew the casing tunnels on the wrong side at the waist, starting from one front, going through the back, to the other front.
Leave the ends free to pull the belt out through the eyelets.
6. Sew the pockets (optional)
Topstitch the patch pockets where desired on the fronts.
7. Hem
Hem the bottom of the jacket and the sleeves.
8. Make the belt
Join the two belt strips together.
Fold right sides together, sew lengthwise.
Turn inside out and topstitch if desired.
9. Put on the belt
Thread the belt into the slide, and pull it out through the eyelets.
