EDWARD BAWDEN Lithographic Book Illustration 1949 - The Cabinet Maker / The Bell - Curwen Press

This 1949 lithograph by Edward Bawden captures two scenes from his series on village life, printed directly onto zinc plates by the renowned Curwen Press. The double-sided print—featuring "The Cabinet Maker" and "The Bell"—represents an original work rather than a reproduction, with colours that remain unfaded despite decades of careful preservation within its original binding. At 18 by 11.7 centimetres, this vintage sheet bears only gentle handling marks and age toning, making it a quietly compelling piece of mid-century British printmaking for collectors of illustration art.
