EMANUEL UNGARO Vintage Orange Silk Georgette 2-Piece Set, Surplice Top, Pleated Skirt, Size Small

This superb two-piece vintage dress from Emanuel Ungaro’s Parallèle label, c.1980-83, is made in an orange silk georgette (like chiffon with a little grain) lined in bright yellow georgette which gives the orange shell an iridescent appearance in the light. The surplice top crosses over in front and closes with two buttons at the waist. Attached to the top in order to cover the waistband is a sash that ties on the side (we're showing it as a bow). The top also has big shoulder pads and lots of gathers under the yoke in both front and back. Pleats at the shoulders and cuffs create very full sleeves that close with one-button shirt cuffs. The skirt is densely ruched over the hips and then transitions into a pleated skirt. Closure is with a side zipper. The fabrics are not labeled but look and feel like a silk crepe. Labeled size 8, but measurements indicate that the set is closer to a modern size 4. Review the photos carefully because they too are part of the description. BLOUSE MEASUREMENTS* - Shoulder width is 15" between seams and 17.25" to outer edges of shoulder pads. - Underarm chest measurment is approximately 44" - Waist is 28.5" when buttoned without being tied. - Sleeve length is 25" - Length is 19" down center back. SKIRT MEASUREMENTS* - Waist is 27" - Hips are 37" at about 8" below top of waistband. - Length is 22.5" down center back. *To better ensure a proper fit, please compare the actual measurements with a similar garment that fits you. CONDITION Both pieces are in excellent condition with no significant flaws. The blouse has one inconspicuous 3/4-inch thread pull near shoulder of right sleeve.
