This text was originally published in 1859. I am not sure when this edition came out. The publisher Hurst & Co. operated between 1871 and 1919.
Though the cover of this edition attributes the writing to famed abolitionist Harriet Beecher Stowe, it was actually written by her sister-in-law, Eunice White Bullard Beecher, who was married to Harriet's brother Henry Ward Beecher. From Dawn to Daylight was originally published semi-anonymously under the name "A Minister's Wife," which led to confusion in later editions. I think the error is fascinating and makes this edition an extra special curiosity.
This book is autobiographical and was quite controversial in its day. It tells the story of a a woman who follows her husband, a clergyman, to the frontier. You can learn more here: https://indyencyclopedia.org/from-dawn-to-daylight-1859/
