Description

This is a lovely hardback version of From the Hills of Georgia, An Autobiography in Paintings by Mattie Lou O'Kelley. Twenty-eight dazzling, storytelling paintings make a breathtaking visual autobiography of one of America's most prominent folk artists, Mattie Lou O'Kelley. Her paintings, accompanied by her own lively personal account, re-creates the special world of her pap's farm in Maysville, Georgia, during the early 1900s. 28 of her folk paintings are featured, each with a little personal story. It was published in 1983. A beautiful addition to any folk art collection. The book is in very good vintage condition. The dust cover is tattered in some places (see photos) and the book has a faint "old book" smell. 11" x 9"
