Heavy Ethiopian Coptic Liturgical Cross + Handcrafted + Vintage

This intricate Coptic processional cross is substantial at just over two feet tall and six pounds. The silver-toned metal has golden hues and was handcrafted in Ethiopia, likely from an alloy. We believe the open-worked areas were created using a traditional hand-carved lost-wax process. Crosses like this one are carried in Ethiopian Orthodox Church processions and ceremonies. The hollow shaft/cone is mounted on a wooden handle and carried overhead. In great vintage condition. The heavy, 6 x 4 inch rectangular metal base (iron?) has some scuffs and keeps the piece solidly upright. 25.25 inches tall x 18 inches wide x 1/8 inch thick. This is a unique piece with ties to ancient religious practices. As a decorative item, it is a statement piece. It's bold and bright and captivating!
