KEITH HENDERSON Book Illustration 'As Byrde in Bour' from 'Romaunt of the Rose ' by Chaucer, First Edition Printed by Ballentyne Press 1911

This 1911 Keith Henderson illustration from the Ballantyne Press's first edition of Chaucer's *Romaunt of the Rose* is a rare artifact of early twentieth-century book arts. The tipped-in plate, titled "As Byrde in Bour," retains its original protective tissue and blind stamping, offering a tangible connection to the period's craftsmanship. Over a century old, the print shows gentle age marks and discoloration consistent with its provenance, while the image itself remains remarkably clear—a compelling piece for collectors of vintage literature and fine printing.
