How then are you delided away from the truth?) is an ideal choice to meet your needs! - THE ART - Information about the text Text in arabic: إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَالِقُ ٱلْحَبِّ وَٱلنَّوَىٰ ۖ يُخْرِجُ ٱلْحَىَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَيِّتِ وَمُخْرِجُ ٱلْمَيِّتِ مِنَ ٱلْحَىِّ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ Transliteration: Inna Allaha faliqu al habbi wannawa, yukhriju alhayya min almayyiti wa mukhriju almayyiti min alhayyi, thalikumu Allahu, faanna tu’fakoon Translation: Truly it is Allah Who splits the grain of corn and the date-stone. He brings forth the living from the dead, and is the bringer-forth of the dead from the living. Such is Allah. How then are you delided away from the truth? Information: In Qur’an 6:95, the Creator attracts the attention of the human to how seeds are being split, and how this seemingly insignificant event can only be done by the One who can extract the living from the dead, as this is exactly what happens when a seed germinates. Thus, it is only Allah, the God, who can split the seed, and cannot be anything else including apparent causes such as water, soil, or the genetic sequence of the plant. This verse is followed by “He is the Splitter of the Daybreak, and He has appointed the night for stillness, and the sun and the moon for reckoning. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.”, further highlighting how it is the same act of splitting that is observable in germination of the seeds as well as the cycle of day and light. Therefore, the message is, the One that splits the seed to raise the plant can only be the One that has the power to bring the new day after the night. Information about the Calligraphy and the Design of the Art piece This artwork is written in the calligraphic style of kufi/maqili by certified calligrapher Meryem Osmanlioglu, who is also the owner of this Etsy shop. Meryem got her traditional calligraphy education from renowned masters Fevzi Gunuc and Huseyin Kutlu. Kufi style is one of the earliest types of Islamic Calligraphy, with the earliest copies of the Qur’an having been written in this style. Maqili is distinguished by sharp corners of the letters, in contrast to occasional curvatures present in the original Kufi. The geometric compusture of Maqili style allows designs that fit well with modern architecture of the 21st century. In this piece, the artist first writes the main statement of the verse “Truly it is Allah Who splits the grain of corn and the date-stone.” at the top, and then concludes the pieces with the last statement with its conclusion “Such is Allah. How then are you delided away from the truth?” at the bottom. Both claim and conclusion sentences are written in green, indicating liveliness of the sentences as well as an allusion to a germinating plant with its lush green. In the two lines that are written in between, the artist inscribes the part of the verse “He brings forth the living from the dead, and is the bringer-forth of the dead from the living.”, that illuminates the claim sentence and leads to the conclusion of the verse.
