LENNOX PATERSON Wood Engraving for 'The Roadmender and Other Writings' Birds Eye View of Gull Over Sailing Boat

This vintage wood engraving by Scottish artist Lennox Paterson captures a gull in flight above a sailing boat, originally created for a 1950 edition of *The Roadmender and Other Writings*. Removed from its bound volume and printed on cream paper, the piece shows the fine detail and linear precision characteristic of mid-century wood engraving, with only faint handling marks from decades of careful keeping. The sheet measures 23.3 x 16.8cm, with an image size of 16.4 x 13cm, offering a distinctive print from Paterson's body of work as a notable Scottish printmaker and painter.
