LENNOX PATERSON Wood Engraving for 'The Roadmender and Other Writings' Man Reading in Bed

This vintage wood engraving by Scottish artist Lennox Paterson captures an intimate moment of quiet reading, originally printed for a 1950 edition of *The Roadmender and Other Writings*. The delicate linework and cream-coloured paper convey the contemplative mood characteristic of Paterson's mid-century practice. In very good condition with only faint handling marks from its time bound in the book, this 3½ x 6⅝ inch sheet offers a window into postwar British printmaking and the artist's distinctive approach to domestic scenes.
