Description

if you are not in the United Kingdom please message me a phone number for customs purposes. I may not be able to dispatch your order without it. This is a Vernier calliper to read up to about 7 1/2 inches or 19 centimetres. It was made by Etalon in Switzerland Out of high quality stainless steel. It is exceptional condition. Providing you know how to use a Vernier calliper this tool will measure to the nearest 1 thousandth of an inch or 50th of a millimetre. It is hard to find anything wrong with this tool. When the jaws are closed They fit together so closely that no light can be seen between them I have checked and there is no wear on the internal surfaces of the JAWS. The carriage slide smoothly and you do not have to overtime the locking nuts to lock it. The micro adjustment feature works as it should. All the graduations both on the ruler and on the carriage are clearly readable. If you want to be really picky there is a small area of pitting on the reverse of the shaft And one tiny dent on the carriage but you have to look for them to see them. I have tested the accuracy of these callipers with my gauge blocks and I confirm that they are spot on. I have seen a few Verniers over the years but none that were built quite so solidly as this one. I should think if you look after it it will probably last you out. sadly the micrometre on the spanner that went with it are missing from the box but that does not detract from the quality of the vernier. to replace this tool with a new item would cost you in excess of £40.
