Necklace & Bracelet Set, Thermoset Roses, Ebony Brown, Floral Costume Jewelry, Vintage

This exquisite necklace and bracelet set is completely unique from anything else I have seen or handled before. They are created with a multitude of trailing clusters of three-dimensional cabbage roses, in deep ebony brown, interspersed with lovely translucent green leaves. I believe the roses and leaves are crafted with pressed Thermoset (plastic), although the roses mimic the look of carved wood. Both of the pieces are strung on brown, twisted cord. The necklace and bracelet fasten securely with a rose that hooks through a loop of brown cord. I purchased this set as part of an estate from a woman who owned an antique store and was a collector of jewelry, purses, and artwork for her entire life. Many of the items from her estate were NOS (new, old stock) or rarely worn, and this set appears to be some of this jewelry. I believe they may have been created in Western Germany in the 1950s or 1960s, based upon research I have done, although I have been unable to find anything else like them to date, so they are rare. There is no maker’s mark on either of the pieces, but they are quality made costume jewelry. MEASUREMENTS (approximately): • Necklace (from end to end): 15 inches in length • Necklace center roses section: 7inches in length x ¾ inch in width • Bracelet (from end to end): 8 inches in length x ¾ inch in width CONDITION: Very good to excellent vintage condition. The roses and leaves are lovely. The brown cording remains pristine. The necklace and bracelet closures work well. This is a vintage set, and has been gently used. I have done my best to describe it, but it is possible that a small defect could have escaped my notice.
