Original Antique LARGE Signed Oil Painting on old dense Canvas Lake and Mountains landscape Antique Oil Painting on Canvas, large, signed but I was not able to read the signature, exact age or origin is not known; could be considered as “primitive” or “naïve” manner, however well executed with sparkling colors, and startling vigor, depth and luminosity… Antique very dense (not recent soft cotton or industrial canvas) canvas, most likely it is old linen, nice old style heavy duty metal pieces to hold canvas bards within the frame, overall impression if of substantial old school framing… LARGE SIZE: 37 X 21 INCHES; SIZE FRAMED STRECHED CANVAS WITHIN HEAVY STURDY WOOD BARS: 32 X 16 INCHES; ANTIQUE GOLDEN/GREEN PAINTED ACCENTS WOODEN SHADOW BOX STYLE FRAME; SIGNED IN THE LOWER RIGHT CORNER, LAST NAME IS EITHER "Lehm…?" OR - … PLEASE ZOOM AND SEE THE PHOTO; NOT DATED, APPEARS AS CIRCA 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY (ESTIMATE); THE PAINTING IS IN GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION WITH TYPICAL WARE AND ISSSUES THAT ARE CHARACTERISTIC FOR AN OLDER ANTIQUE OIL ON CANVAS PIECE: there are two repairs to the canvas (small rips) that were well covered and repaired with old linen, the canvas there was well stabilized and is secure and firm, some typical surface wear and a few minor typical scratches, and rather minor area of paint loss close to the signature, otherwise paint is not peeling or missing, and artistic integrity of the oil painting was not compromised by the repairs. THE FRAME HAS SOME TYPICAL WEAR, SCRATCHES, CHIPS AND RELATIVELY SMALL AREAS OF PAINT LOSS ESPECIALLY ON ITS EDGES; BUT IS VERY STURDY, and is quite unusual and still beautiful. FRAME PAINT COULD BE RETOUCHED/REPAIRED OR REPAINTED if desired, but is being displayed quite well as is showing its vintage character. A metal wire is attached on back side for immediate display. Overall this is attractive, early, very nice oil painting; price reflects concerns and issues that were described, Ready for display
