Persian Qajar Calligraphy Painting, Islamic Royal Manuscript Wall Art Print, Gold Foil Luxury Poster, Muslim Home Decor - Digital Download

This digital print reproduces a rare double album leaf from the Metropolitan Museum of Art—a calligraphic exercise by Fath Ali Shah, the second ruler of the Qajar dynasty, who ruled Iran from 1798 to 1834. Rather than delegating calligraphy to court scribes, this cultivated monarch practiced the discipline himself, filling the page with flowing Nasta'liq script against a luminous gold floral ground and signing the work with his own royal hand. The piece embodies the Qajar period's flourishing of Persian arts, when calligraphy remained the highest art form of the Islamic world, and offers a window into how Persian and Mughal rulers viewed beautiful writing as a mark of refinement worthy of their own practice.
