Rare Intact Set Vintage Pair Cowrie Shell Armbands

Cowrie-shell and vintage coin armband, traditionally worn on the upper arm or just above the elbow. Cut and pierced cowrie shells. Coins with wool and cotton binding. Mid-century, most likely from the Thar desert region. A surprisingly wearable piece given it’s easy self-closing fastening, but definitely also one for collectors - these original pieces only very rarely come onto the market for sale, especially a pair.
