Set graduated Venetian millefiori beads, late 1800's, African trade beads, old Venetian beads, antique Murano glass beads, Mauritania beads

Mix of old graduated Venetian millefiori beads from the African trade. Trade beads were decorative glass beads, used between the 16th and 20th Century as a token money to exchange for local african goods as oil, gold etc. These are great for collectors or for small jewelry projects like bracelets. These beads are mostly slices from longer tube beads. This was common practice in Africa: larger beads were often sliced for esthetic puposes or to split up the value in smaller amounts. I have several of these, your beads will be similar but not identical. ✔️ Shape: mostly slices and/or small tubes ✔️ Number of beads: sets of 10, 15 or 20 cm (minimum 10, 15 or 20 beads) ✔️ Each set will be graduated and will count a mix of smaller and larger beads. ✔️ Color: mixed colors, the color schemes can be different from the pictures. ✔️ Size: from ca 9-15 mm ✔️ These beads are handmade, no beads are identical. This is the real thing, no import from India or China in my shop. ✔️ Late 19th - early 20th C ✔️ The beads are in good used condition. Some of these beads have traveled at least three continents. Corrosion and pitting are a normal part of their patina attesting to their age and extensive use. Small chips are possible. ✔️ The beads will be carefully wrapped.
