Solomon Enthroned - Eclectic Decor, Mughal Art Digital Print, Sufi Art, Indian Painting, Islamic Wall Art, Persian Miniature

Solomon Enthroned Among Birds and Angels - Eclectic Decor, Mughal Art * Exclusive to Flaming Prints * This colourful rich painting in pigment ink and gold depicts the Prophet-King Solomon surrounded by his subjects including animals, birds, angels and even demons, as a powerful illustration of his mastery over the apparent and the unseen forces of nature. He is also speaking with the hoopoe, a bird that is mentioned in the story of Solomon in the Quran. The simurgh, the Persian version of the phoenix, is seen among the birds as well. The artwork (dated 1602 AD, Allahabad) is attributed to the talented painter Mirza Ghulam, who painted for Prince Salim (later Emperor Jahangir), and was created as part of a divan (book of poetry). The image of Solomon Enthroned has been created many times in Islamic art, but this is a particularly striking example. Nevertheless, as is often the case with these paintings, some details are missing, and for the reproduction print we have digitally restored most of them in-house. In addition the painting had daubs of gold spilled onto the page and we have removed that while leaving other minor imperfections as they are simply for the aesthetic effect. As always, we have taken great care to be as accurate as possible. In addition, the painting has been moved from its original plain tan border into a glorious gold-decorated border from the same period, containing exquisite animals and flowering shrubs, which adds extra finesse to the image. You will not be able to find this exact image repaired and in this border anywhere else. Digitally enhanced by Future Past Creations and printed on premium cotton textured fine art paper. All sizes refer to sheet size, and the prints have a white border. We have taken care to preserve each image in its correct aspect ratio, so not every paper size is available across all listings. However feel free to contact us if you would like a custom size, and we will try to help. Our prints fit neatly into standard frames, or bigger if you use a mount. All our prints are either designed in-house or licensed. **SATISFACTION GUARANTEED OR YOUR MONEY BACK** DELIVERY INFORMATION We send out our artwork in sturdy packaging.
