This is a very rare ruler. it was made by James Chesterman before the merger with Rabone in 1963 although I think it was not long before then because this ruler has both imperial and metric measurements. It is a one foot long folding ruler with each section therefore being four inches long. It is graduated on the imperial side in 16ths 32nds and 64ths of an inch and on the metric side in millimetres and half millimetres. It is in very good condition the joints are extremely tight and the locking mechanism snaps into place as it should. While there are a few of these rulers about they are increasingly uncommon simply because the metal is so thin that they do not last.
