Tasbih from Mahjong Rack, Czechoslovak Marbled Catalin, Yellow Bakelite Prayer Beads

A beautiful vintage Catalin (phenolic resin) tesbih crafted from an old Mahjong rack (tile holder). This piece features classic Czechoslovak-style marbling, with rich yellow tones blended with natural brown swirls. The internal patterns create a flowing, layered effect that is highly desirable among Catalin collectors. The material continues to deepen in color over time, developing a warmer and more characterful tone with age. Unlike most Mahjong-derived pieces, which are often limited by thin stock, this tesbih offers well-proportioned beads and a balanced presence. The elongated imame enhances both aesthetics and usability. Beads are shaped in a capsule cut, smooth and comfortable for daily handling. Material age is estimated to be at least 70 years old. The tesbih itself was handcrafted approximately 10 years ago. A refined collector’s piece combining vintage material heritage with skilled craftsmanship. 📏 Bead size: approx. 6.4 × 10.1 mm (0.25 × 0.39 in) ⚖️ Weight: approx. 15.75 g (0.556 oz ) Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor signs of age consistent with original Catalin material.
