The Panther / Authentic Steel engraving and hand-colored Vignettes de Buffon 1839

This is an authentic steel engraving and hand-colored page from the 1839 Vignettes de Buffon, a classic naturalist work, measuring 5 by 7 inches. The panther illustration arrives as the original antique plate—not a reproduction—with a protective tissue guard, bearing the patina and character marks of nearly two centuries. As a collector's piece, it reflects the age-old tradition of combining scientific observation with fine printmaking, making it a distinctive addition to any home or collection that values historical artistry.
