This is an ORIGINAL vintage piece of sheet music, not a reprint or reproduction
Since it is now over 45 years-old it is not in mint condition, and I will note here observations I see. This copy is in very good vintage condition; the cover colors remain bright and lovely. It shows minor wear, some minor crinkles, with some slight signs of usage on the edges.
The inside pages have writing on the music from the original owner that were added to help them learn the music, but I think that just adds to this item’s story. The contents are completely usable.
Fortunately most of the wear is located on the edges of the page and inside, and therefore can easily go unseen and hidden away behind the border of the framing mat. Please view the photos I have posted, as they will give you the best idea of how it looks. I have taken additional close-up photos of the cover and sheet music, and can share them with you upon request.
By owning this original sheet music you will own a piece of this all-time classic Academy Award winning movie!

“The Sting” is a 1973 American caper film set in September 1936, involving a complicated plot by two professional grifters (Paul Newman and Robert Redford) to con a mob boss (Robert Shaw). The film was directed by George Roy Hill, who had directed Newman and Redford in the western “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
The title phrase refers to the moment when a con artist finishes the "play" and takes the mark's money. If a con is successful, the mark does not realize he has been "taken" (cheated), at least not until the con men are long gone. The film is played out in distinct sections with old-fashioned title cards, the lettering and illustrations rendered in a style reminiscent of the Saturday Evening Post.
The film is noted for its anachronistic use of ragtime, particularly the melody "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin, which was adapted (along with others by Joplin) for the movie by Marvin Hamlisch (and a top-ten chart single for Hamlisch when released as a single from the film's soundtrack). The film's success created a resurgence of interest in Joplin's work.
The Sting was hugely successful at the 46th Academy Awards, being nominated for 10 Oscars and winning seven, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
The film received rave reviews and was a box office smash in 1973–74, taking in more than US$160 million ($800 million today).
As of October 2016, it is the 22nd highest-grossing film in the United States adjusted for ticket price inflation.
In 2005, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The Writers Guild of America ranked the screenplay #39 on its list of 101 Greatest Screenplays ever written.
The film won seven Academy Awards and received three other nominations. At the 46th Academy Awards, Julia Phillips became the first female producer to be nominated for and to win Best Picture.
