Unused Vintage Set of Four 15.5”x 10.5” Rectangular Handwoven Wool/Burlap Neutral Toned Placemats w/Retro Stripe Design; MCM Boho Home Decor

Unused, this set of four mid-century modern, handwoven textiles, with fringe perimeters, are ideal for a fall tablescape with the warm harvest colour palette consisting of cream, tan, mustard, yellow, orange and deep brown vertical variegated block stripes. Crafted from an exceptionally dense/coarse material(s), unsure if wool, yarn, burlap or coarse acrylic fibres were used (or perhaps a blend of multiple fibres/materials); this vintage set capture the timeless retro aesthetic of the 1970s whilst adding a rustic/boho energy. I purchased these unused and in their original packaging in the early 90s and displayed them only. At the time of purchase, the colour had slight variations in tones; I’m unsure if this is due to their handcrafted nature or if they were exposed to sunlight (I cannot recall what placemats were on the top of the pile as it was 30+ years ago). Nevertheless, the variations are subtle and add to their vintage aesthetic. In wonderful vintage condition, one placemat has a wee imperfection (see last photo) as I made the mistake of hanging the set outside in the middle of a brutal heat dome-the metal on the clothesline left a wee burn mark once the sun hit them. While this minor imperfection does not impact the functionality or aesthetic, it is noted in the price.
