Victorian Agate Mourning Brooch | Sterling Silver Woodland Eastlake Memorial Pin

An 1880's Victorian sterling silver woodland designed memorial brooch with Eastlake style leaves and vines intertwined on a branch frame. There is a large dark smokey brown colored banded agate mounted in a bezel frame. The stone, likely of Scottish origin, is dark enough to be considered appropriate for late or second mourning as well. The body of the brooch has four branch designed rails that have applied vines and leaves. On the reverse is a framed glass insert that has an 1800's sepia tone portrait pictures of an older woman. It has a safety chain with a mini safety pin. The pin is on a tube hinge with a c-clasp closure. It is unmarked but tests for silver. Condition: Very good condition consistent with age. There is a minor loss to half of one leaf on the right side. Measurements: Measures 2 1/4" in length by 1 3/4". Shipping: Ships in 1 to 3 days.
