“Brushy Bayou Recipes" is a collection of recipes from a column, ‘What’s Cooking in Madison,’ which has appeared continuously since 1968 in The Madison Journal, the weekley newspaper published in the parish seat of Tallulah, Louisiana.” The cookbook was copyrighted and published in 1978 by The Madison Journal, Inc. and this is a rare First Edition copy. Recipes were all contributed by readers of the Madison Journal. Each recipe is accompanied by the reader’s name. The cookbook was printed and sold by Claitor’s Publishing Division, Baton Rouge. The cookbook has a heavy paper cover and a plastic comb binding. 582 pages. There is wear to the front cover and a large stain on the back cover. Several pages of favorite recipes are dog eared (this cookbook was used and loved!) Owner's name in ink on onside cover. Otherwise the book is in very good vintage condition!
