This mid-century modern, signed ARNOLD ZAHNER at RHEINFELDEN KERAMIK, ceramic wall plate was purchased in Europe during the 1960-70s (with manufacturing dates ranging from 1950s-70s). Hand-painted and designed by iconic ceramicist Arnold ZAHNER (or artists under his studio workshop), this style is referred to as “Swiss Bauernkeramic” (peasant/Folk Art pottery). Characterized by its distinctive dark glaze base, vibrant hand-painted floral motifs and charming stylized depictions of a traditional woman/figure. In wonderful vintage condition, this retro folk-art was displayed on a wall for decades before carefully (and properly) stored away.
