Description
Vintage blue velvet jewelry box with cream satin lining in the lid, from reknowned Philadelphia jeweler Jack Kellmer. Kellmer's was open for over 70 years, and closed in August of 2026.
The box is from around 1960, and is an iconic style of jewelry box that delighted every woman or man who received one. Opening this box ensured that there was a dazzling treasure inside, and just seeing the box made every person's heart skip.
This box can hold earrings, rings, necklaces, or what ever you want that fits. It would also make a beautiful wedding ring-bearer's box, imagine it sitting on a satin pillow with a white flower! It's a beauty!
There is some wear and usual scuffs and marks. This was used, but lid works very well and it's a very nice piece. The body of the box is metal, so it's very well constructed. As far as I know, all jewelry boxes now have plastic or cardboard bases, and very few are actual velvet anymore.
PLEASE NOTE: The box has no jewelry in it, it is ONLY the empty box. It makes a GREAT photo prop to give your shop photos a signature style!
