Description

For Sale today I have a copy of a World War II Booklet titled The First Four Years dated March 1944. This Booklet was Distributed in Canada by the United Kingdom Information Office, 75 Sparks Street,, Ottawa. The pictures in this booklet are marked "Photo: British Combine". As Per Google: "British Combine Photos LTD: Identified as a photographer/agency documenting historical scenes in England during World War Two, such as the Women's Land Army." The last page is marked "PRINTED IN U.S.A. BY UNION LABOR FFY-23-3-44". As Per Google: "Based on the code "FFY-25-3-44," this booklet is a British propaganda publication likely titled The First Four Years (or similar), produced in March 1944 (3-44) to detail Britain's war efforts, distributed in Canada by the United Kingdom Information Office and printed in the USA. Context: The publication date (March 1944) suggests it was released just before the D-Day invasions, designed to bolster support for the British war effort. Significance: Such publications were common for maintaining morale in Commonwealth nations. Code Interpretation: "FFY" likely stands for "First Four Years" (covering 1939-1943), while "3-44" indicates a March 1944 printing date. Note: The provided search results did not produce a direct, detailed bibliographic entry for this specific, titled pamphlet, which is common for ephemera from this era." This booklet is in fair to good pre-owned condition. Please note the covers are taped together. Thanks for looking & have a Great Day!
