NR Wow, where do I start??? I ordered $300 worth of abayas that I thought looked absolutely beautiful on their site. Well two months later and I have nothing. I am currently disputing the charge with my bank. It was about 3 weeks before they shipped them out, and their website says 5 business days. When I inquire about my order they give excuse after excuse about how I have to wait to clear customs which I know does not take two months. They keep telling me it has shipped.
I ordered from them over a year ago (I should have learned my lesson then), and they never even shipped the item, but were quick to take the money. I got a refund from them on that purchase. I think they have nice looking product, but they are disorganized.
I now have my abayas custom made by a wonderful tailor in Saudi. It takes about two weeks with stitching and shipping, but they are stunning, and are those high quality ones you find in Saudi abaya boutiques.
My sister managed to get one of their abayas on ebay, the snaps come open during salah, the "embroidery" fell off after one hand wash. Please use caution with this company. Their items look nice and the fabric feels good, but these are not the best quality. From what I hear they are manufactured in Bangladesh not in Saudi at all.
A message to desertstore.com, get your act together. More people might shop with you if you can deliver in less than two months. Posted on August 5, 2006 |

NR A number of my close friends have ordered from this store and found the sizing to be completely out and my best friend got a caftan from them which had been washed and suffered from a colour run before they sent it to her; to be fair they did offer an exchange but the abaya they sent that she chose they didn't get right either. A common complaint I have heard from many who order from them is their clothes smell of smoke when they arrive. The prayer outfits on there cost $1 in Saudi and can be gotten even in the west for $5 if you shop around. My husband and his family know this company and where they are based in Saudi and got me some stuff from them directly; while nice their abayas were not the best quality and didn't last more than a year; they were worth the $10-$15 they cost over there but not the prices they charge on the site; a lot of their abayas with embroidery and patch designs wash badly even when handwashed and a lot of the sleeves are not long enough for many sisters; so if you're looking for great quality beware but if you're looking for something just average then they are probably for you. NR I ordered mens caps and shalwar and ladies prayer dresses from this store. The caps were extra nice, and the shalwar were ok but not exactly the right size I thought. The prayer dresses are great and a good value. Posted on February 26, 2006 |

NR The Desert store is excellant!!! I like the prices and the quality in the clothing... Of course your are expected to pay more for an outfit online then in person but the prices are well worth it. Unless you can fly out to Jeddah and bargain with the store keeper... desert store can't be beat. Posted on February 23, 2006 |

NR I have ordered twice, once a scarf and niqab that are high quality and the second time a snap-front abaya. I also have trouble with the snaps - they are not strong enough and weren't sewn on well. But otherwise the abaya is good quality. I had a problem with my debit card being accepted on the second order, but emailed them to inquire and got a fast response. I also changed the size of the abaya after ordering and it was shipped correctly. Posted on November 7, 2005 |

NR I think that the clothes from this store is most high quality among the internet stores. Since I did first purchase, im ordered their abayas evere 2 month. Also + excellent service, and wide selection of products.

NR I tried to make a purchase from them twice, but for some reason my credit card number was not accepted. Then, i was surprised to find out that the total amount was actually withdrawn from my card "TWICE", but no successful order was made.
I contacted them and i got a reply saying that they will contact their payment gateway and get back to me. It has been around 2 weeks now and no reply. And of course the money is not back to the card yet, nor i got the products.
Be careful! Posted on May 11, 2005 |

NR Do not buy the abayas that close with snaps. Everytime you make a movement such as sitting down or going into sujjood they will open up on you. Otherwise their clothes are good. Posted on February 2, 2005 |
