NR Bismillah I am totally frustrated with this company. I ordered from there in the past, and was happy with the items I received, but I ordered from there again this past October (2012) and have yet to receive anything - and it is now nearly the end of February, 2013. I have called twice, and Mia has told me that she never gets my emails, despite the fact that I have tried to contact her at a variety of her different email addresses. I am now resorting to this option. I would not order from this company again - unfortunately. I like to support my sisters who have made hijrah, but I cannot afford to send money and then receive nothing in return - not even updates as to what is going on. Beware! Posted on February 23, 2013

NR I thought I was the only person with problems with this company! For one thing she overprices everything! $3 for an individual pack of Skittles? Are you kidding me? Good thing they are Halal in the states now! She rarely responds to emails, and if she does it takes a week. She never gets back to me if a refund is in store. I have no choice but to order from her because some of her products are not readily available where I live but it's such a headache. I email her 10 times before I hear back from her. Customer service gets an F. Whenever something is out of stock they add what THEY want to the order, and why would I pay to send it back again. I hate that. You can't replace it with what you want! It's not a gift, this is a business order. And as others said, her shipping mysteriously takes months. I order from places overseas and pay less for shipping and get my item 2-3 weeks after, but my order from her took up to 10 weeks once. If you ask me there is something not right with this business and I advice others who want to avoid problems to not order from them!!! Posted on July 2, 2009

NR Assalamu alaikum! ... just wanted to let you know that I am the owner of the DESERT BOUTIQUE. We do our best to sell our things at the highest quality and the lowest prices possible. If there are ever any items that are not 100% we give a 100% refund always! We care about our quality and work hard to make sure that it is the best. I check everything personally, but things do get past sometimes unintentionally. We do our best to give you your items on time, and sometimes this isn't possible because of items not available in the market. (That is because some of the items we offer are few of a kind, and when they are gone they are gone). Also, we are not in control of the US post, and we do state clearly on our site that things will take from 6 to 8 weeks, unless the person asks us to expedite their order, which we are also happy to try to do. This time is because we keep a very small staff, in order to keep down the prices. We have a huge warehouse on our premises where we keep whatever we have on our site in order to fill orders as soon as possible. Please note that this store is not the same as another store also in Kuwait that people have told us sells substandard items, so don't confuse us. While no one is perfect, we try to do our best. NR I have ordered again several weeks back and she still has not billed me for the items, let alone sent them. I even signed her guestbook to take advatange of her current special offer but by the time she bills me it may have expired! Another friend has recently had problems where they sent payment and it took six months for the sister to realise she had got it and send the items. Despite thinking I would not order again; I have done twice as they sell items you can't get elsewhere; with fairly good results so I thought the service had improved. The only problem I have is if she cannot get an item she makes substitutions and often the substitutions are poor; ie niqabs and scarves with embroidery when you wanted plain; too small kids al-ameerahs with lace when you ordered the plain adults ones; or she just never sends that item at all. My best friend ordered a good six months ago and asked for six pairs of the black cotton gloves; she kept saying she could not get hold of that many but she would eventually; however they have never been sent nor has my friend been refunded that money. I have been told by a sister very famililar with the company that what they do is put a photo of a generic item on the site; and actually go to buy the majority of the items from the bazaar when an order is placed; it explains the very low prices on some items but also the poor substitutions and variation in quality at times. I am still waiting for the bill for this order; if they didn't sell the Arabic kids books so cheap (even in Saudi they are more expensive than she sells them for) and rare items for the household and good niqabs I'd give this site a wide berth. NR I have mixed feelings about this store; I ordered from them and while I felt the customer service was good I wasn't happy with the fact my order took nearly two months; I appreciate shipping from Kuwait is slow however I was told towards the end of January my items were ready to be shipped but they were not actually posted until over a month later! The actual shipping time only took two weeks. I changed my address early in January and the envelope I got my stuff in had my old address on but scribbled out which proved it had been packed back then so why the delay? The items I got were mixed; the niqab I got was excellent one of the best I have ever got from anywhere and I consider myself a bit of an expert. The extra large gauze scarf I got was much smaller than in the picture on the site (some guy is holding it in the picture to show just how incredibly huge this thing is meant to be) and instead of the cottony type fabric they usually use for such fabrics it was a thin polyester chiffony crepe which was see-thru and slipped around all over the place; and got badly pilled before it was even washed. Driving gloves again were excellent, but the baby lounging thobes though well made the ones for my youngest son were too small to fit over his head and I actually ordered a length designed for a kid much older than him so I could shorten it and then unpick that hem later in order to get more wear from it; so overall 5/10 and I doubt I'll order again. NR Salaam All Ok so still I haven't recieved my stuff from this store. I swear the Customer Service is totally off!!!!!!!!!!!!! I emailed the sister to request a refund on Tuesday this week and it's Now Thursday and she still hasn't gotten back to me. This is the first time I order anything online and the customer service was bad. Kuwait isn't Pluto nor is it Mars- So a package should come in at a timely manner- is it not the companies fault if the package is lost or misplaced? What I don't get is that a few sister recommended her and based on their recommendation I went with her... But from my view- the cheap price isn't worth it... They took my money and 3 almost 4 months later i still don't have my product. I want to scream... I keep pushing it bakc... giving the benefit of the doubt but I am at the breaking point... knowing that I paid of the items and nothing has come... SUCKS Knowing that I've email them about the situation and all they can say is "it wa sent you should get it soon" Soon came and went. NR It's been 3 months now and I still don't have my Item... I wrote the seller and she told me to wait another week or so and it it doesn't show up then contact her again. NR I am a frequent purchaser. Communication is wonderful with this company and the products are good. I have had quality issues with some scarves - not cut square, stains, etc - and the quality of the georgette they use varies sometimes. But their prices can't be beat, even with shipping. NR I have had many pleasant transactions with this Kuwaiti company. The merchandise is all of fine quality - and what a great selection - they have beautiful, comfortable clothing and products that you'll find nowhere else on the web. Attention to customer service is immediate and the communication is excellent. Shipping may take a while longer than usual but it's always worth the wait. Posted on July 11, 2005
