James Thurber comic illustration green silk scarf by Richard Farrar - 16 inches square

Images from famed comic artist , James Thurber, are featured on this vintage square silk scarf. It is titled, "The Masculine Approach", which is a famous 1937–1938 illustrated sequence that was published in The New Yorker. It satirizes dishonorable, manipulative wooing techniques used by men. The scarf is green with black linear imagery and wording. It was finished with thin hand rolled edges. The original Richard Farrar tag is still attached. The 16 inch x 16 inch scarf is pictured with an 18 inch ruler. It is in very good previously owned condition with expected creasing, wrinkling and other minor wear.
